WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Newman wrestling traveled to Missouri on Sunday to take part in the UCM Open. In the second tournament of the season the Jets improved on its overall match count. Reece Wright-Conklin placed fourth while Lorenzo Serna and Miles Johns placed fifth.

The Jets wrestling team had a much improved weekend from the previous performance at the OCU Open. Overall match count was 24-20 compared to the previous weekend's 19-21. Wright-Conklin led the charge with a 4th place finish; finishing the day 6-2, and improving his record to 9-3 for the season. Wright-Conklin's highlight of the tournament was knocking off the returning national champion Ethan Orr from Labette Community College. Other place winners were Johns (5th) and Serna (5th).
