WICHITA - The Newman baseball team will have to wait another day to start its 2012 season. Expected inclement weather in the San Antonio series has pushed the Jets' season opener with St. Mary's back one day.

This weekend's series will now begin on Saturday, Feb. 4, with a doubleheader starting at noon, followed by a single game on Sunday, Feb. 5. Sunday's game will also begin at noon. All games will be played at Wolff Stadium, home of the Double-A San Antonio Missions.

Head Coach Zane Ehling and the 2012 Jets were picked sixth in the Heartland Conference pre-season poll, while the St. Mary's Rattlers are the pre-season favorite, and represented the Heartland Conference in the NCAA Div. II Championship tournament last season.
