-Newman opens its 2009-10 home schedule Tuesday evening when they host Lone Star Conference foe Cameron in a 6 p.m. contest inside Fugate Gymnasium.

-Newman dropped its season opener Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, falling 59-42 to Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Rockhurst. Freshman Melanie Brockleman led the way for the Jets, posting an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double in her first regular season game as a Jet.

-Cameron swept the two-game series last season, winning a 56-47 decision in Wichita before completing the sweep with a 56-42 win over the Jets on the Aggies' home court in Lawton, Okla. 

-Tuesday night's game will be a reunion of sorts for each school's athletic director. Both athletic directors were fellow Jayhawk Conference AD's before assuming their current NCAA DIv. II posts. Cameron's James Jackson was AD at Pratt Community College, while Newman's Vic Trilli was head of the athletic department at Garden City Community College.
