Jets Streaking Into Conference Play...
The Jets will look for their ninth-straight victory inside Fugate Gymnasium on Saturday when the Rattlers come to town. Newman is off to its best start in school history, and is three wins away from breaking the school record for home victories in a season since making the move to Division II. Senior Satoria Bell (23.7 ppg) is well on her way to re-writing the record books, scoring 20+ points in 12 of the Jets first 14 games this season. Senior Tasha Cannon has been a double-double machine thus far in the season for Newman. The Atlantic City, N.J. product grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds in a 74-65 victory over Midwestern State on Nov. 15 . Newman is undefeated at home, possessing a 8-0 record inside Fugate Gymnasium. In the Jamie Green era, the Jets are 18-2 on their home floor. The Rattlers are 4-5 when playing away from Bill Greehey Arena this season.

Last Time Out...
Newman took its next step to winning its second consecutive Heartland Conference Championship, defeating TAMIU 88-81 on Thursday. The Dustdevils had the personnel to match-up with the high-powered Jet offense, matching the Jets basket-for-basket in the early going. Newman saw a 17-10 deficit dissappear, as TAMIU went on an 11-0 run, following a Jennifer Johnson jumper, putting the Dustdevils ahead 21-17 with 9:08 to play in the first period. A Sam Soyez jumper ended the run, sparking a 12-2 run in the final two minutes of the half.

TAMIU started off the second half with a 5-2 spurt to pull within two 37-35, after an Ashley Torres triple at the 18:44 mark. Soyez responded again with a three-ball of her own, igniting a 10-1 run to give the Jets a 47-36 lead after a pair of Celeste Key free-throws. The Jets built their lead back up to 16, only to see it dissappear once again. Trailing 75-65 with 4:25 to play, scored six unanswered points to pull within 75-71 with 3:11 to play, which would be the closest the Dustdevils would get. Newman would convert free-throws down the stretch, preserving the victory.

Satoria Bell led all scorers with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Tasha Cannon added 17 points and seven rebounds. Bell and Cannon were joined in double-figures by Sam Soyez and Kianna Flannagan, chipping in 15 and 11 points respectively. Soyez's 15 points marked a career-high for the sophomore from Goddard, Kan.

Player to Watch...
