About the Jets...
The Jets will look for their 11th-consecutive victory, and hope to continue their perfect start in Heartland Conference play, when they travel to Goodwell, Okla. to take on the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State on Thursday. Newman hasn't lost since a 71-65 overtime decision at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Dec. 1 in Weatherford, Okla. During their most recent streak, the Jets are averaging 75.0 points per game, out-scoring their opposition by an average of 18.4 points per contest. Newman is led by one of top duos in all of NCAA Div. II Women's basketball. Seniors Satoria Bell and Tasha Cannon are combining 38.5 points per game. Bell (23.7 ppg) is the second leading scorer in the country, while Cannon (14.8 ppg) is averaging 16.2 points per contest in Heartland Conference action. The Jets only two losses on the season have come away from Fugate Gymnasium.
Scouting OPSU...
The Aggies plow into Thursday's game with an overall record of 3-16, while looking for their first Heartland Conference victory. OPSU is coming off of a 112-80 defeat at the hands of Texas-Permian Basin on Jan. 21. The Aggies boast the second-ranked scoring-offense in NCAA Div. II (93.6 ppg), but sport the worst scoring-defense in the country (104.7 ppg). OPSU features nine scorers that average 9+ points per game. The Aggies hold a 3-7 mark inside Oscar Williams Fieldhouse.

Last Time Out...
Newman won its 10th straight game, coasting to a 64-52 victory over St. Edward's on Jan. 21. The Jets jumped out to 12-6 lead in the first five minutes, but St. Edward's scrapped back with four points of its own to cut the deficit to 12-10 at the 14:00 mark. The Hilltoppers continued to chip away at the Newman lead, before taking a 21-20 lead that lasted one possession. The Jets ended the half on a 7-4 spurt that lasted six minutes, taking a 28-24 halftime lead.
The Jets opened up the second-half by extending their lead back to seven after an Alina Voronenko lay-up at with 18:04 left to play. The Hilltoppers rallied back within one, three minutes later, but an Anna Sonka three-pointer at the 13:00 mark sparked a 7-0 run, lasting the next five minutes. The run pushed the Newman lead to 49-38 with 8:02 to play, and the Jets never led by any less than seven from that point forward, signifying the 64-52 win.
Satoria Bell and Tasha Cannon paced the Newman offense, pouring in 16 points respectively. Alina Voronenko set a career-high with 15 points. As a team, the Jets shot 49.1 percent (26-35) from the field, while out-rebounding the Hilltoppers 39-26.
Player to Watch...
Satoria Bell- The senior-transfer from Temple University is bound for a huge game against an Aggie defense that is giving up 104.7 points per game. The Philadelphia, Pa. native is averaging 21.4 points per game against Heartland Conference opponents.
