WICHITA - The Newman men's tennis team fell, 9-0, to Division I Wichita State on Friday (Oct. 11) at Crestview Country Club. The Jets concluded their fall season with a 2-2 record.

The Shockers swept all matches, winning the three doubles matches and six singles matches. In doubles, Nei Dos Santos and Freddy Sanchez lost 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, Evgeniy Kim and Max Pyle fell 8-4, and at No. 3 doubles, Miguel Bendito and Jeff Wherritt lost 8-2.

The Jets fell in straight sets in all six of the singles matches. Dos Santos lost 6-2, 6-1. Kim dropped a close first set 6-4 and then lost set two 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Sanchez fell 6-1, 6-1. Pyle at No. 4 singles lost 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 5 singles match, Bendito dropped a 6-1, 6-0 match. Wherritt lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
