HAYS, Kan. – Newman women's tennis finished its fall season with an impressive 9-0 victory at Fort Hays State on Friday (Oct. 4) at the FHSU Tennis Courts. The Lady Jets went 4-0 in the fall and only dropped one court during those four duals.
 
The Lady Jets started the match with three dominating wins in doubles competition. At No. 1 doubles, Kirstie Symon and Taylor Jordan rolled to an 8-3 win, and at No. 2 doubles Hillary Hicks and Lisa Pleskan also won by an 8-3 score. Carissa Villaflor and Ariana Raga pulled away for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
NU swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Symon defeated Camille Caron-Bedard 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Pleskan only dropped two games in an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Jordan was victorious 6-1, 6-3. Hicks got a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles. In No. 5 and 6 singles, the Lady Jets continued their strong play with Raga notching a 6-0, 6-1 win, and Villaflor cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
