WICHITA – The Newman women's tennis fell to Central Oklahoma on Friday (Feb. 8) afternoon by the score of 6-3. The Lady Jets won two singles matches and one doubles match for the three wins. The match was the start of the spring season for the Lady Jets. UCO is No. 3 in the ITA Central rankings.
 
Kirstie Symon won No. 1 singles, defeating Petra Pesic in three sets. Symon won set one, 6-3, and Pesic took set two, 7-6, to force a third set. Symon won set three, 6-4, to upset Pesic, who is No. 5 in the ITA Central rankings.
 
Also getting a singles win was Taylor Jordan in the No. 4 match. She defeated Rose Cabato in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Symon and Jordan paired up to win the No. 1 doubles match. The duo defeated Antonella Rossini and Cabato, 8-4.
 
The Lady Jets return to the court next Friday (Feb. 15) to take on Rockhurst at 11:30 p.m.
