WICHITA – Newman women's tennis pushed its win streak to five straight with an 8-1 victory over Bethel College on Tuesday, March 12 at Riverside in Wichita. The Lady Jets are now 9-1 on the season.
 
In singles competition, the Lady Jets took all six courts in straight sets. At No. 1 singles, Kirstie Symon won over Breanna Honer, 6-1, 7-5. Lisa Pleskan got the win at No. 2 singles, 6-2 and 6-2. Taylor Jordan was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 4 singles, Jessica Brown won 6-2, 6-2. Alajandra Hernandez picked up a 6-0, 6-1, victory at No. 5 singles, and Carissa Villaflor won, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
 
Symon and Jordan were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 8-4. At No. 2 doubles, Pleskan and Villaflor picked up a 8-3 win.
 
The Lady Jets take to the road for their next 12 matches. NU plays Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday (March 14) at 2 p.m. in Durant, Okla.
