DURANT, Okla. – Newman women's tennis started its road swing with an 8-1 win at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday (March 14). With the victory, the Lady Jets won their sixth straight match of the season and improved to 10-1 on the season.
Newman swept all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles,
Kirstie Symon and Taylor Jorgan got a 8-4 win, and at No. 2 doubles
Lisa Pleskan and
Carissa Villaflor won by the same 8-4 score. Alajandra Hernandez and
Courtney Dold won, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles.
The Lady Jets won five of the six single matches. Symon won in straight sets, 6-2, and 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Pleskan got a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles. Jordan was victorious, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Hernandez got a 6-3, 6-1 win, and at No. 6 singles, Brown won, 6-2, 6-4.
NU is next in action on Saturday (March 16) against Texas-Permian Basin in Austin, Texas.
