KINGSVILLE, Texas – Newman women's tennis got back on track with a 7-2 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday (March 19). The Lady Jets improved to 12-3 on the season.
 
Newman won two of the three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, Lisa Pleskan and Carissa Villaflor won 8-3. The Lady Jets won at No. 3 doubles as Jessica Brown and Courtney Dold got an 8-1 victory.
 
In singles competition, the Lady Jets took five of the six matches. Kirstie Symon won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Pleskan also won in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 2 singles. At No. 4 singles, Taylor Jordan got a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Villaflor and Katie Klausmeyer also won for NU in singles. At No. 5 Villaflor cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win, and at No. 6 Klausmeyer won 6-1, 6-1.
 
The Lady Jets travel to the Evangel Invite on March 28-30. During the invite, the Lady Jets take on Evangel, Kansas Wesleyan and Graceland University.
