WICHITA – No. 71-ranked Wichita State shut out the Newman men's tennis team, 7-0, on Wednesday (March 6) at the Genesis Health Club. The Jet fall to 2-7 on the season.
 
Nei Dos Santos lost at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, and Feddy Sanchez was defeated, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Doman Nola went down, 6-0, 6-1. Jared Ferris and Jeff Wherritt were both blanked, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Mitchel Whitmer lost, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
 
In No. 1 doubles, Dos Santos and Sanchez were taken down, 8-2. Nola and Ferris were defeated, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles, and Whrritt and Whitmer lost 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Jets take on Bethel College on Tuesday (March 12) at Riverside in Wichita.
