WICHITA – Southeastern Oklahoma State took all nine matches and defeated the Newman men's tennis team, 9-0, on Tuesday (April 9). The Jets dropped to 7-15 on the season with the loss.
 
In singles, Freddy Sanchez battled, but fell 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. Jeff Wherritt lost a close match at No. 6 singles 6-3, 7-5. Nei Dos Santos lost 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Ramon Nola went down 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Jared Ferris was blanked 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, and Mitchel Whitmer lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
 
SEOSU also won all three doubles matches. Dos Santos and Sanchez lost 8-1 at No.1 doubles, Nola and Whitmer dropped an 8-6 match at No. 2 doubles and Ferris and Wherritt went down 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Jets are in action again on April 11 against Emporia State at 2 p.m.
