WICHITA – Newman women's tennis won in dominating fashion, 9-0, over Friends University on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at Friends. The Lady Jets dropped just 11 games in the nine matches. NU moved to 3-0 in the fall.
 
NU started strong in doubles as the three doubles teams didn't drop a single game to the Falcons. Kirstie Symon and Taylor Jordan won, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles. Carissa Villaflor and Courtney Dold teamed up at No. 2 doubles and won 8-0. Lisa Pleskan and Hillary Hicks also got a 8-0 victor in doubles at No. 3.
 
Playing at No. 1 singles, Jordan won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Hicks got a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, and Vallaflor was victorious at No. 3 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1. Maria Hernandez cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles. Playing at No. 5 singles, Symon won by default, and Pleskan also won by default at No. 6 singles.
 
The Lady Jets travel to the ITA South Central Championships on Sept. 27 and 28 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
