Box Score WICHITA – The Newman women's basketball team won, 80-56, over York College in its final non-conference game on Monday (Jan. 6) at Fugate Gymnasium. The Lady Jets moved to 7-7 on the season.
 
Alexandra Ciabattoni totaled a game-high 17 points in only 21 minutes. She went 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range. She added five rebounds and three assists. Cheniqwa Banks also hit double figures with 13 points, including a 2-for-2 night from 3-point distance.
 
Shekeira Copeland grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, including five offensive rebounds. Shakira Raynor had a game-high five assists and three steals. Tessa Ramsay blocked three shots, a game and career high. Eleven of the 12 Lady Jets scored in the game, and 12 played at least 8 minutes in the win.
 
The Lady Jets shot 42.4 percent (28-66) from the field, including 48.6 percent (17-35) in the first half. NU went 7-fo-15 from 3 (46.7 percent) in the first half and 11-29 (37.9 percent) from 3 in the game.
 
As a team, NU totaled a season-high 48 rebounds. Four Lady Jets pulled down five or more rebounds. NU held a 23 to nine advantage in free throw attempts.
 
NU takes on Rogers State on Thursday (Jan. 9) at 5:30 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium.
