WICHITA – The Newman women's tennis team upset No. 25 Northeastern State, 6-3, on Friday (Feb. 21) at West Genesis. The Lady Jets are undefeated in the spring, going to 5-0 and 9-0 overall.
 
NU started winning two of the three doubles matches. Kirstie Symon and Taylor Jordan teamed up to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Courtney Dold and Hillary Hicks won, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles.
                                                                                      
In singles, the Lady Jets won the last four matches. Jordan won 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Hicks got a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Dold picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win, and at No. 6 singles Carissa Villaflor blanked Kat Nesbitt 6-0, 6-0.
 
The Lady Jets are next in action on March 1 at McPherson College in McPherson, Kan.
