DENVER – The Newman men's tennis team took two of the three doubles matches, but only managed to get one win in singles, falling 6-3 to Metro State on Thursday (March 20) at the Regency Athletic Complete. The Jets dropped to 4-5 on the spring.
 
NU started with two wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Max Pyle and Freddy Sanchez won, 8-6, at No. 2 doubles, and Evgeniy Kim and Jeff Wherritt got a 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Jets only took one of the singles matches. Sanchez won in three 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
 
The Lady Jets play CSU-Pueblo tomorrow (March 21) at 1 p.m. in Pueblo, Colo.
