DENVER – The Newman women's tennis team moved to 9-0 on the season with a 9-0 win at Metro State on Thursday (March 20) at the Regency Athletic Complex.
The Lady Jets started by winning all three doubles matches.
Taylor Jordan and
Kirstie Symon won, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles, and
Lisa Pleskan and
Carissa Villaflor got a 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles. NU won by default at No. 3 doubles.
The Heartland Conference Player of the Week, Symon, was victorious 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Pleskan won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Playing at No. 3 singles, Jordan got a 2-6, 6-3, 10-4 win at No. 3 singles.
Hillary Hicks rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles Villaflor cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win. NU also won at No. 6 singles by default.
The Lady Jets play CSU-Pueblo tomorrow (March 21) at 1 p.m. in Pueblo, Colo.
