WICHITA – The Newman women's tennis team stayed undefeated with an 8-1 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday (March 7) at West Genesis. The Lady Jets moved to 10-0 on the season and 6-0 in the spring.
 
NU started by winning all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Kirstie Symon and Taylor Jordan paired up for an 8-5 win. Lisa Pleskan and Carissa Villaflor got an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles, and at No. 3 doubles, Hillary Hicks and Maria Hernandez won 8-1.
 
The Lady Jets continued to dominate in singles competition, winning five of the six courts. All five wins came in straight sets. Pleskan won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, and Symon got a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
 
NU won at four through six. Hicks picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles, Villaflor got a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and Ariana Raga notched an 8-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
 
The Lady Jets travel to Central Oklahoma on Friday (March 14) for a 2 p.m. match in Edmond, Okla.
