WICHITA – Newman men's tennis knocked off McPherson College, 6-3, on Thursday (April 10) at Riverside Park. The Jets improved to 11-10 on the season.
 
NU started by taking two of the three courts in doubles. Nei Dos Santos and Eduardo Santos won a tight match at No. 1 doubles, getting a 9-8 victory. At No. 3 doubles, Evgeniy Kim and Miguel Bendito were victorious, 8-6.
 
After dropping the top two courts in singles, the Jets won at No. 3-6 singles for the 6-3 victory. Kim picked up a 7-6, 6-2 straight set win at No. 3 singles. In the No. 4 singles match, Freddy Sanchez won 6-2, 6-3. Bendito pulled away for a 6-2, 7-6 victory at No. 5 singles, and at No. 6 singles, Max Pyle was victorious 7-5, 7-5.
 
The Jets welcome Washburn on Monday (April 14) for a match at 3 p.m.
