MARYVILLE, Mo. – Newman women's tennis picked up another win over a regionally ranked opponent as the Lady Jets defeated No. 7-ranked Northwest Missouri State, 6-3, on Friday (April 18). NU moved to 20-3 on the season.
 
The Lady Jets started by taking two of the three doubles courts. Taylor Jordan and Kirstie Symon won, 8-6, at No. 2 doubles, and Courtney Dold and Hillary Hicks got a 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
NU continued its strong play into singles where the Lady Jets won four courts. Symon, who is ranked No. 20 in the South Central Region, cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Lorena Rivas Jarolim, who is ranked No. 11 in the Central Region. NU picked up wins in singles No. 4-6. Hicks pulled away for a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Ariana Raga dominated in a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles, and Carissa Villaflor was victorious 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
 
Next up for NU is Senior Day tomorrow (April 19) against Fort Hays State. The match starts at 1 p.m. at Riverside Park.
