SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Newman men's tennis team's season ended in the semifinals of the Heartland Conference Tournament as the Jets fell, 5-0, to No. 26 St. Edward's on Friday (April 26) at the Rohrbach Stadium Tennis Complex. NU finished 12-11 on the season.
 
The Hilltoppers won all three of the double courts. Eduardo Santos and Nei Dos Santos lost, 8-5, at No. 1 doubles. In the No. 2 doubles match, Freddy Sanchez and Max Pyle went down, 8-4. Evgeniy Kim and Miguel Bendito fell, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Lions needed two wins in singles competition, and UAFS got wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Felix Bake defeated Dos Santos 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Adrian Garza won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles over Max Pyle. The other four singles matches went unfinished.
