SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Newman women's basketball team plays at St. Mary's today (Jan. 3) at 1 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena. Live stats and video are available for the contest.
 
The Jets are currently 3-8 and 0-3 in the Heartland Conference after a 70-52 loss to Texas A&M International on New Year's day. Cierra Tjaden scored a game-high 18 points for NU, and she added six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Kesha Buckner had 10 rebounds and five steals. NU shot just 32 percent in the loss.
 
St. Mary's is currently 8-3 and 2-1 in the Heartland Conference. On New Year's Day, the Rattlers defeated Oklahoma Christian, 68-51, to move to 2-1 in the conference. Morgan Pullin totaled a double-double of 15 points and 20 rebounds in that game. Also with a double-double was Kiara Etheridge with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Deziree Elias scored a game-high 23 points. For the season, Pull averages 21.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. She has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week numerous times this season.
 
After today's game, the Jets return home for two games. NU takes on Lubbock Christian on Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium.
