MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Newman women's basketball took on its second Division I team in a one-week span, ending its exhibition season with a 100-33 defeat to Kansas State Monday night at Bramlage Coliseum.
Bria DeGrate finished the game with nine points to lead the Jets, while Hannah Alexander added eight. The Jets were able to be disruptive on the defensive end by forcing 17 Wildcat turnovers. Natalia Hausmann led Newman with four thefts on the night.
The Jets open the regular season this weekend, hosting the Heartland/RMAC Challenge at Fugate Gymnasium beginning Friday at 6 p.m. against Colorado-Colorado Springs.
