HISTORY LESSON

The Jets earned an 81-61 victory over the Eagles at Fugate Gymnasium back on Jan. 14. Robinson scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting, and Mali Wright added 20 points and nine rebounds as Newman won its second straight. The victory was the first for the Jets over the Eagles since the 2013-14 season, and OC holds a 5-2 advantage in the series.

NOTES

-With a win over the Eagles and a little bit of help from a loss by Oklahoma Panhandle Thursday, the Jets can lock up a berth in the Heartland Conference tournament for the fourth time in five years. With five games left in the regular season, Newman can clinch the postseason with two wins.

-The loss on Saturday to LCU was just the third time the Jets have allowed 80 points in a conference game this season. Outside of those three games, Newman hasn't even allowed a team to score in the 70s, and the team sits second in the conference, allowing just 61.0 points per game.

-The Eagles put up free throws and 3-pointers at nearly equally impressive rates, leading the Heartland and ninth in the country at both. They hit 76.9 percent from the line, which is 12th in the nation, but just 28.3 percent from beyond the arc, which is sixth in the conference.

COVERAGE

The game will be broadcast live on 1410 AM (KGSO) in Wichita, with live audio and statistics available at www.newmanjets.com.
