WICHITA, Kan. – After playing a single road game against Oklahoma Panhandle State, the Newman women's basketball team turns right around for another single road game against Lubbock Christian Thursday evening.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (17-8, 7-6 Heartland) traveled to Goodwell, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday afternoon. Newman controlled the entire game, which was kick started by a 36-7 lead in the first half of play. The Jets would hold on to win 73-58 over the Aggies.

The Chaparrals (13-10, 8-4 Heartland) took on Rogers State at Claremore, Oklahoma on Thursday, defeating the Hillcats 60-33. Lubbock Christian then traveled to Fort Smith, Arkansas to go up against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday but fell 69-65 to the Lions to complete the week of travel.

HISTORY LESSON
Lubbock Christian holds a 5-2 all-time series lead over Newman that dates back to the 2013-14 season. Both teams met earlier this season on Jan. 30 at Fugate Gymnasium, which the Jets held on to win a thrilling 61-60 game over the Chaparrals.
NOTES
-Newman heads into tomorrow's game on a four-game conference winning streak that began against Lubbock Christian on Jan. 30.
-The Jets are currently in sixth place in the conference standings with three games remaining in the regular season. It's still possible that the Jets could finish as the No. 3 seed heading into the tournament, but mathematically can't finish lower than the No. 6 seed.
