WICHITA, Kan. – After a four-month layoff the Newman men and women's tennis teams are both eager to get back out on the court.
 
The teams will start their spring schedule off with a pair nonconference matches at home this weekend. The Jets will take on McPherson College Friday at West Genesis, starting with the men at 8 a.m. and the women to follow at 11 a.m.
 
Newman will then take on Tabor College Saturday at West Genesis again, starting with the women at 2 p.m. and the men to follow afterwards.
 
The men's team is currently ranked 50th in Division II and seventh in the South Central Region, according to the ITA rankings. The women start the spring ranked eighth in the region.
