WICHITA, Kan. — After its last non-conference game of the season, the Newman Women's basketball team faces a big test at home this week, as the Jets take on No. 2 Lubbock Christian Thursday and Oklahoma Christian Saturday. Newman will be looking to make a statement this week as it takes on two quality opponents.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (13-7, 4-2 Heartland) are coming off a victory Wednesday over Randall University 95-43, the Jets looked good using the nonconference game to gear up for the action this week and trying to move up in the conference where they sit third going into Thursday.

SCOUTING THE CHAPARRALS

The Lady Chaparrals (17-1, 6-0 Heartland) are coming off a weekend in which they won both games at home, Thursday the team welcomed St. Edward's to RIP Griffin Center where the Lady Chaps took the game 64-31. Saturday the Lady Chaps hosted Oklahoma Christian and the Lady Chaps took another victory at home 78-64. The Lady Chaparrals currently sit in first two games up on the Jets going into Thursday's action.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

The Eagles (5-13, 1-5 Heartland) are coming off a two-loss weekend, they first traveled to San Antonio where they took on St. Mary's the Rattler's would take this game 72-57. Saturday the Eagles traveled to Lubbock, Texas as they took on No. 3 Lubbock Christian the Chaps would come away with the 78-64 victory giving the Eagles their second loss of the week in a hard-fought game.
