Jets Looking To Stay Hot Going Into Conference

WICHITA, Kan. — Coming off a nonconference win against Saint Mary the Newman women's basketball team is looking to keep focus as they start up conference play this weekend taking on Rogers State Thursday and Arkansas Fort-Smith Saturday.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (10-5, 2-0 Heartland) are coming off an early nonconference matchup with Saint Mary Saturday in which the Jets won 79-68 behind some solid play from Hannah Alexander, Erica Olerich, and Dede Johnson. The Jets are looking to this weekend to gain some leverage in the conference in which they are currently sitting first.

SCOUTING THE HILLCATS

The Hillcats (4-8, 0-1 Heartland) are going into conference play coming off a long break, having played Ouachita Baptist on December 15th in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and losing that match up 69-54. The Hillcats also played Henderson State on December 16th in Arkansas long that close game 55-52. The Hillcats currently sit sixth in conference going into the weekend.

SCOUTING THE LIONS   

The Lions (8-6, 1-1 Heartland) are coming off two wins to start off the New Year they hosted Pittsburgh State in Fort Smith, Arkansas and won that matchup 58-49. They were back on the road on December 30th to take on Ouachita Baptist and the Lions were able to come away with an 83-77 win. The Lions are currently sitting in third place in the conference going into this weekend's matchups.
