Jets Set To Close Regular Season At Rogers State

WICHITA, Kan. — With the postseason looming, the Newman women's basketball team will finish up their regular season Wednesday as they travel to Claremore, Oklahoma with a matchup with Rogers State.

POSTSEASON CONSIDERATION

Newman appears all but locked in to the fourth seed at next week's Heartland Conference tournament, which will take place March 1-4 at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Jets could bump up to the third seed with a win over RSU and a St. Mary's loss to Texas A&M International this week.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (17-10, 8-5 Heartland) are coming off their lone conference matchup last week when they traveled to Lubbock, Texas to take on No. 2 Lubbock Christian. The Jets were looking to get a conference against a quality opponent, but the Chaps offense was too much for the Jets, getting the victory 70-56.

SCOUTING THE HILLCATS

The Hillcats (9-15, 4-8 Heartland) are coming off of a 1-1 week where they took on St. Mary's and Texas A&M International. In the matchup against the Rattlers, both teams would go back and forth until the final second of the fourth quarter, when the Rattler's got two free throws under 10 seconds to give them the 56-54 victory. In the matchup with the Dustdevils, the Hillcats had some better success, taking care of business with a 74-64 win Saturday.
