ST. JOSEPH, MO — The Newman women's Tennis team swept the weekend at the Missouri Western Invitational as they defeated the host Missouri Western University 5-2 Saturday afternoon. The Jets took the momentum from Friday into Saturday's matchups for the win.

In the doubles events, the Jets were able to sweep with Janneke de Rijk and Emily Young winning their matchup, then Vlada Litvinova and Kateryna Stoianova won their matchup next.

Finally Liza Gerasimova and Niamh Packer won their matchup to propel the Jets to the sweep in the doubles.

In the Singles events the Jets had some tough losses but were still able to pick up the overall victory Saturday, with the help of Packer, Stoianova, and Young who all go the Jets wins in their singles matchups.

Litvinova, Packer, Young, and Stoianova all had great weekends for the Jets, these players were able to pick up three wins on the weekend including both singles and doubles events during the weekend. The Jets continue their hot streak this season they continue to win and keep the team momentum at a high.

The Jets will be back in action Sunday Feb 11 as they will take on McPherson at home.
