WICHITA, Kan. — Facing a sturdy set of singles players, the Newman women's tennis team fell to Northwest Missouri State 7-2 Sunday afternoon at West Genesis.

The Jets (9-4) jumped out to an early lead against the Bearcats (2-5), as doubles teams of Liza Gerasimova and Emily Young at No. 1 and Kateryna Stoianova and Vlad Litvinova at No. 2 both earned wins.

A tough set of singles opponents allowed Northwest Missouri to close out the win.

Newman takes a week off before beginning a spring break road trip, starting March 18 at Rockhurst.
