O'FALLON, Ill. — Forced inside due to more adverse weather, the Newman women's tennis team made quick work of McKendree Tuesday afternoon, earning a 9-0 win for its second victory in as many days.

The Jets (11-4) were forced to play supersets at singles due to court availability against the shorthanded Bearcats (0-7), but put together four 8-0 victories as they swept all courts.

Liza Gerasimova, Emily Young, Mariana Gaviria and Kateryna Stoianova all won at singles without dropping a game, while the top two doubles teams eased to 8-1 victories. McKendree defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Newman gets two days off before heading to Dallas for three matches this weekend, beginning Friday against Texas-Permian Basin.
