WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman women's tennis team cruised past Kansas Wesleyan Wednesday (Feb. 27) with a 7-0 shutout win. The Jets improve to 6-3 on the season with the win.

The Jets won all three doubles matches as No. 1 Litvinova and Bifano rolled to a 6-2 win, while Wise and Cavalcanti blanked KWU's No. 2 doubles 6-0. No. 3 doubles Gerasimova and Young won 6-0 as KWU was open in the No. 3 doubles.

In singles action the Jets blanked the Coyotes 6-0 as the Jets did not fall in any set. The Jets top four singles secured the match with wins by No. 1 Vlada Litvinova 6-2, 6-2, No. 2 Isabela Bifano 6-2, 6-1, Marian Gaviria 6-2, 6-1 and Mirella Calvalcanti 6-1, 6-0.

No. 5 Emily Wise and No. 6 Lisa Gerasimova completed the shutout with 6-0, 6-0 wins as the Coyotes forfeited the No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
