KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Newman women's tennis team edged Maryville Friday (Mar. 1) in a nonconference match. The Jets won by a narrow 4-3 decision as the Jets claimed four of the six, singles matches.

The Saints claimed the opening point winning the doubles matches 2-1. The Jets meanwhile clawed back as No. 2 Vlada Litvinova, No. 3 Isabela Bifano, No. 5 Emily Young secured wins knotting the match up 3-3. No. 4 Mariana Gaviria secured the match in a super tiebreaker thriller taking the final two sets 6-3 and clinching set 10-6 after dropping the opening set 0-6.
