WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman men's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 victory over Dallas Baptist on Friday morning (Mar. 22). The win moves the Jets to 5-10 on the season, while improving to 2-0 in Heartland Conference play.

In doubles, sophomore Arthur Esteves Justo and Lauri Soome won the first doubles match (7-5). Closely after No. 3 doubles Teodor Antelj and Marcel Miasato claimed the doubles point (7-5) jumping the Jets out to the early 1-0 lead over the Patriots.

In singles, senior Lauri Soome evened the match up at 2-2 winning in straight sets (6-1, 7-5). No. 4 Teodor Antelj gave Newman the lead back for good winning (6-4, 6-1). Szbin Pusztay clinched the match winning in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) giving Newman a 4-2 advantage heading into the final match. With the match already clinched, junior Marcel Miasato added another point securing an (8-6) set victory.
