GAME 1:
The Jets struggled to get things going against Hornets starter Monta Mesler (6-9), being held hitless through the first 3-innings.
Emporia State took the lead with a pair in the second inning before putting the game out of reach with big third and fourth innings. The Hornets accumulated their 19 runs on 14 hits and six Jet errors.

In the nightcap, the Jets started the scoring on Emma Eck's 2-out 2 RBI double putting the Jets ahead 2-0 in the home half of the first.
The Jets looked to get out of a big jam in the top of the fourth, until an obstruction call gave new life to the Hornets. After the ruling, ESU gained their first lead of the game 3-2 with three straight 2-out hits following the obstruction call.
Lacey Colvin got the Jets back in business starting the home fourth with a leadoff single. After back-to-back outs, Lauryn Ogden delivered a 2-out RBI double into the gap driving home Colvin knotting the score up at 3-3.
Paige Wallace put the Jets back in front 4-3 with a 2-out RBI single, scoring Lauren Kuhrt in the fifth.
Unfortunately the Jets were unable to close the game out in the seventh as the Hornets struck for seven runs with one-out rallying back to complete the doubleheader sweep 10-4.
Colvin and Ogden led the Jets in hitting recording two hits in three at-bats.
The Jets will look to end their longest losing streak of the season Friday afternoon (Apr. 5) on the road against conference opponent St. Mary's.
