WACO, Texas – The Newman men's tennis team heads into this weekend's Heartland Conference Championships as the No. 3 seed. The four-team tournament will take place Friday-Saturday, April 26-27 at Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The Jets will take on the second-seeded Rattlers of St. Mary's at 12:00 p.m. Friday in the opening round.

Newman (8-15, 2-2) will look to get revenge on an earlier 4-1 loss to St. Mary's.

The top side of the bracket features No. 1 St. Edward's and No. 4-seeded Arkansas-Fort Smith. The two winners will play for the Heartland Conference Championship at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
