WACO, Texas – The Newman women's tennis team has been announced as the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Heartland Conference Championships. The four-team tournament will take place Friday-Saturday, April 26-27 at the Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The Jets will face off against top-seeded and nationally ranked 16th St. Edward's at 9:00 a.m. Friday in the opening rounds.

Newman (13-12, 1-3) will look to avenge an earlier 4-0 loss to the Hilltoppers after playing one of the hardest schedules in all of Division II tennis this season.

The winner of the top side of the bracket will face either No. 2 seed St. Mary's or No. 3 seeded Dallas Baptist. The two winners will play in the championships match at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
