WICHITA, Kan. — Taryn Torgerson has been named the next head coach of the Newman University women's golf team, newly hired athletic director Joanna Pryor officially announced

Torgerson comes to Newman after spending one season as a student assistant coach for the Wichita State University women's golf team.

"We're very excited for the opportunity to have a new direction and vision for our women's golf team", Pryor said. "From the beginning, Taryn has brought energy and excitement that our program is ready for. We're looking forward to her arrival and for her to get started with preparations for the jump into the MIAA conference."

Torgerson played all four years on the WSU women's golf team.
