Box Score WICHITA, Kan. - The Newman men's tennis team played host to Rockhurst for their first home match of the spring season. The Jets would defeat the Hawks 5-1 behind good singles play. 

Lauri Soome and Jarrod Nowak would team up for 1 doubles and take on Eleveld and Gambilerti. Soome and Nowak would win 6-4. Gustavo Gil and Arthur Esteves Justo would fall to Leon and Birgenson 7-6. Teodor Anteljand Marcel Miasato would defeat Rodriguez-Villegas and Perret 6-2.

In singles, playing number 1, Soome would defeat Perret 3-6, 6-2 and 6-3. Gil would fall to Birgenson 6-1 and 6-3. Justo would defeat Leon 6-2 and 6-2. Antelj would defeat Gambilerti 6-1, 6-7 and 6-3. Nowak and Rodriguez-Villegas wouldn't finish, but their scores were in favor of Rockhurst, 6-4, 6-7 and 4-3. Miasato would defeat Eleveld 6-4 and 6-4.

The Jets will be back in action Sunday February 16 as they host Cowley College.
