Box Score WICHITA, Kan. - The Newman women's tennis team hosted Rockhurst for a match that would turn out to be a close one that would go in Newman's favor as the Jets would defeat the Hawks 4-3.

In #1 doubles, Vlada Litvinova and Liza Gerasimova would fall to Czarnecki and Mennick. Emily Young and Isabela Campos Bifano would defeat Romero and Dabbah 6-4. Mariella D'Angelo Calvalcanti and Mariana Gaviria would defeat Flaxbeard and Harris 6-0. The Jets would receive 1 point from doubles.

Litvinova would defeat Czarnecki 7-5 and 7-6 with a 7-3 tiebreaker victory. Gerasimova would defeat Dudic 6-4 and 7-5. Campos Bifano would fall to Romero. Young would fall to Mennick 3-6, 6-3 and 6-3. Calvalcanti would defeat Dabbah 6-1 and 6-3. Gaviria would fall to Flaxbeard. The Jets would win 4-3, earning 1 point for doubles and 3 points in singles. 

The Jets will be back in action on Sunday February 16 as they host Cowley College at West Genesis.
