Jets tie Tigers in exhibition match

WICHITA, Kan. - The Jets hosted the Cowley Tigers on Sunday afternoon at West Genesis. This is the second time the two teams have faced off this school year with Cowley winning the first meeting 7-2. Newman and Cowley would tie in the second meeting, 3-3.

In #1 doubles, Lauri Soome and Jarrod Nowak would defeat Orihuela and Castillo 7-5. In #2, Kenny Wright and Gustavo Gil would fall to Gonzalez and Clements 6-1. In #3 doubles, Teodor Antelj and Marcel Miasato would defeat Brauer and Goncalves 6-2.

In #1 singles, Soome would defeat Gonzalez after leading 6-1, 3-6 and 1-0 when his opponent would withdraw. Gustavo, in #2 singles, would defeat Orihuela 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2. Antelj would play #3 singles and defeat Castillo 6-1 and 6-4. Nowak would fall to Sosa 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2. Miasato would fall to Goncalves 6-3 and 6-2. Wright would fall to Duben 6-0 and 6-1.

The Jets will be back in action on February 22 and 23 as they travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday and Drury on Sunday.
