WICHITA, Kan. - The Jets hosted the Cowley Tigers on Sunday afternoon at West Genesis. This is the second time the two teams have faced off this school year with Cowley winning the first meeting 5-4. Cowley would win this meeting as well, as they would defeat the Jets 6-1.
In #1 doubles,
Vlada Litvinova and
Liza Gerasimova would be taken down by Quezada and Ibarra 6-2.
Emily Young and
Isabela Campos Bifano would get the Jets lone doubles win 6-3 over Rodriguez and Molaoa.
Mariana Gaviria and
Mirella D'Angelo Cavalcanti would fall to Kaindoah and Leonard 6-4.
In #1 singles, Litvinova would fall to Quezada 4-6, 7-5 and 10-8. In #2 singles, Gerasimova would fall to Kaindoah 6-1 and 6-1. Young, playing #3 singles, would get Newman's only singles win by defeating Molaoa 6-2, 2-6 and 6-3. Bifano, #4 singles, would fall to Molnar 6-3, 1-6 and 6-2. Cavalvanti, playing #5 singles, would drop to Rodriguez 8-6.
The Jets will be back in action on February 22 and 23 as they travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday and Drury on Sunday.
