Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Jets Women's Tennis team traveled to St. Joseph, Mo. this past weekend for their first competition of the spring 2020 season.

Truman State - W 7-0

Doubles -Vlada Litvinova and Liza Gerasimova would defeat Rogers and Eby 6-3. Emily Young and Isabela Campos Bifano would defeat Huitron and Shirey 6-2.  Mirella D'Angelo Calvalcanti and Lauren Esfeld defeated Fangman and Gross 6-0 to notch the sweep in doubles.

Singles - Litvinova, playing #1 singles, would defeat Rogers 6-1, 6-2. Young defeated Eby 6-2, 6-3.  Gerasimova would win against Huitron 6-0 and 6-1. Mariana Gaviria defeated Shirey 6-1 and 6-0.  Bifano defeated Fangman 6-2 and 6-1.  Cavalcanti defeated Shelly 6-0 and 6-1 for a sweep in singles.

Missouri Western - L 4-1

Doubles -The Jets would be able to take two of three with the third double not finishing.  Young and Bifano would defeat Curci and Iglesias 6-2. Calvalcanti and Gaviria defeated Salmaso and Donnelly 6-3.  Litvinova and Gerasimova didn't finish match with the score 4-4.

Singles – There was two singles matches that ended with a no finish.  The Jets would get swept in singles play.  Litvinova would fall to Strom 6-1, 6-2.  Young would fall to MacGibbon 3-6, 3-6.  Gaviria lost to Iglesias 6-0, 6-1.  Bifano won the first set 6-0 but lost the final two sets 6-4, 6-2.  Cavalcanti and Gerasimova were unable to finish the match.

Augustana - L 4-1

Doubles – They would end the weekend with a matchup against Augustana and dropping the match 4-0.  Litvinova and Gerasimova would defeat Vieyra and Goble 7-5.  Young and Bifano would drop their match 7-6 over Granson and Kistanova.  Gaviria and Cavalcanti fell to Jackson and Rusu 6-1.

Singles – There were three matches that were unable to finish.  Litvinova dropped her match to Vieyra 6-4 and 6-1.  Young would fall to Kistanova 6-0 and 6-1.  Cavalcanti fell to Granson 6-1 and 6-3.  Gaviria, Bifano and Gerasimova were unable to finish their matches.

The Jets will be back in action Friday Feb. 7^th at 9:00 A.M. as they take on Rockhurst in Wichita, Kan. at Genesis.
