Box Score EMPORIA, Kan. – The Newman Men's Tennis team took on Emporia State this afternoon at Emporia High School. The Jets would come out victorious after taking the doubles point as well as four singles matches to win 5-2.
 
Teodor Antelj and Arthur Esteves Justo would secure the win in the #1 doubles spot over Nelson and Graf 6-3. Luca Penteado and Gabriel Yaguar would secure the other doubles victory to give Newman the point, 6-4 over Maia and Caranza. Gustavo Gil and Jarrod Nowak would fall to Brown and Belmonte 6-3.
 
In singles, Gil, playing in the #1 spot, would defeat Maia 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. Justo would fall in the second spot to Nelson 6-0, 6-4. Antelj would pick up the win in the third spot 6-3, 6-1 over Graf. Yaguar would be defeated by Brown 7-6 (8-6), 7-5. Penteado would pick up the dominating 6-1, 6-2 win over Caranza. Nowak would pick up the final point for the Jets with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Belmonte.
 
The Jets will be back on the court April 24^th as they take on Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
