| Box Score 2 WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman Women's Tennis team traveled to St. Joseph, Missouri on Saturday before going to Emporia, Kansas this morning.  After dropping their match to Missouri Western 6-1, the Jets were able to pick up a road victory 5-2 over Emporia State.

Against Missouri Western, the Jets were unable to pick up a win as Antonia Ramos and Emily Young would fall to Lathauri and Chavez 6-4.  Isabela Campos Bifano and Marie Brunet would fall to Strom and MacGibbon 6-2.  In the final doubles match, Mirella D'Angelo Cavalcanti and Lauren Esfeld would drop there match to Curci and Iglesias 6-2.

In singles, Young would pick up the only win for the Jets with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Strom.  Bifano would fall to MacGibbons 6-0, 6-4.  Brunet drop her match to Chavez 6-2, 6-2.  Ramos would fall to Iglesias 6-3, 6-3.  Cavalcanti would fall to Donnelly 6-4, 6-0.  In the final singles match Esfeld would fall to Singh 6-2, 6-4.

Against the Hornets, the Jets were unable to pick up a doubles win as Young and Ramos would fall to Burr and Caceres 6-4.  Brunet and Bifano would fall 6-2. Cavalcanti and Esfeld would fall in their match to Mackova and Fugit 6-1.

In singles action, the Jets were able to make a comeback winning 5 of the 6 matches to pick up the victory.  Young would win in a three set thriller dropping the first set 6-4 before winning set 2 6-4 and set 3 6-3.  Bifano would defeat Santiago 6-3, 7-6(5).  Brunet would defeat Mackova 7-5, 6-4.  Ramos would takedown Caceres in a three set thriller dropping set 1 6-1, winning set 2 6-2 and winning set 3 6-4.  Cavalcanti would defeat Burr 6-4, 6-4.  In the final singles match, Esfeld would fall to Biggs 7-5, 6-3.

The Jets will be back in action on Saturday, April 24^th as they take on Fort Hays State at 1:30 pm.
