TOPEKA, Kan. - The Jets and Ichabods squared off in Lee Arena Wednesday night. The Jets worked to control the pace the majority of the game, but ultimately fell 47-30.
Newman slowed the pace down effective through the first 20 minutes and found themselves trailing just 15-14 at the half.
The methodical play helped the Jets find a quick 16-15 lead in the third quarter as neither team could truly fins any offensive rhythm.
A 13-0 run allowed the Ichabods to take control of the game, leading 30-18 with 9:17 remaining.
Once Washburn got hot it was nearly impossible for the Jets to stop their roll.
WU was aided by nine 4th quarter points for Shae Snachez.
Newman's offense was paced by 6 points from both
Britney Ho and
Laura Bello. Ho also added a team leading 8 rebounds as the Jets fell 47-30.
The Jets head to Emporia on Sunday with a special tip-off time at 11 AM. This will be the Jets third Sunday contest on the campaign.
