Ho sets new career high in Jets 40 point win over Central Christian

Box Score WICHITA - Women's basketball hosted the Central Christian Tigers on Tuesday for their 2022-23 season home opener. It was Newman dominated through and through, with them taking the game by 40 points with a final score of 86-46.

The Jets jumped out to a 13-4 lead early in the first quarter capped off by a Carissa Beck three and a layup by Freshman Valerija Liokina. Britney Ho would start to cook in the second, putting up eight points that quarter on her way to setting a new career high for the night.

Newman would continue to build their lead in the second half, with Beck getting hot and hitting three strait from behind the arc in the third quarter to bring the Jets lead to 29. On the other end of the court, the Jets would hold Central Christian just 30.6% shooting for the night. They would shoot 15-49, with their worst quarter coming in the third, shooting just 22% in comparison to Newman's 71%.

Britney Ho set a new career high in scoring, putting up 25 on 18 shots.

Carissa Beck also helped out, sparking from behind the three point line for 17.

Valerija Liokina was the third Jet to reach double digits scoring 10 points alongside five rebounds and recording a block.

The Jets will be back in action on Monday, November 28th at 6PM when they host Manhattan Christian in their final non-conference matchup of the season.
