KANSAS CITY, MO. –  The MIAA has named Sophomore Jace Fisher as MIAA Co-Wrestler of the Week. 

This comes after his best performance of the year at the Drury Open last Saturday, winning the 165lbs weight class outright and earning Newman its first tournament individual champion of the season The Goddard native went 5-0 at the tournament and tore through the competition, outscoring his opponents 47-9 on his way to the top and finishing with a victory by fall (3:58) in the championship match. 

The Sophomore phenom has been having a memorable season already, placing top three in every tournament that the Jets have traveled to this year and boasting a 14-2 record in his matches. Fisher has been dominant in those matches as well, recording multiple wins by fall and technical fall. 

Fisher and the rest of the Jets Wrestling squad will be back in action this Friday, December 9th at 7PM when they host Central Oklahoma for a home dual at Fugate gymnasium before traveling to Hays, Kansas on Sunday, December 11th to take part in the Bob Smith Open.
